Tulsa Tube Bending produces heat induction bends to TPA-IBS 98. This standard is one of the oldest and most well established heat induction bending specifications in the industry. Bends manufactured to TPA-IBS 98 are used in oil and gas transmission/distribution applications, refineries and even some structural applications. TPA-IBS 98 covers the manufacturing, testing and inspection requirements for bends having controlled mechanical properties produced by the heat induction bending process. Pipe chemistry, bend speed, temperature and other essential variables are closely controlled during the heat induction bending process. Included in each TPA-IBS 98 hot induction bend order are any needed qualification bends, which have been inspected by non-destructive examination and have undergone various destructive tests to assure their mechanical properties.
