16″ OD Heat Induction Pipe Bends

Induction bending allows us to bend large pipe, up to 36”OD. Compared to cold forming methods, induction bending minimizes deformation of the material to achieve bends with very little ovality even when tight radius bends are required.

To create induction bends, we place an induction coil around the pipe which heats a narrow section of pipe to 900°-2,000°F (depending on the material type). Once the proper temperature is reached, the pipe slowly passes through the coil as the bending force is applied. After the induction bends are formed, the heated area is cooled by a spray of water or air.
